The challenge
A&C Solutions is working on a project where high power, short charging times, and maximum reliability are key. The installations require intelligent power solutions that ensure stable and safe operation throughout the entire ride.
Our customer, an international player with technical roots in the Netherlands, is known for its fully in-house development—from concept and engineering to final production.
Fast charging of supercapacitors
In one of the applications, a supercapacitor must be fully charged within seconds while the vehicle briefly stops at the station. The stored energy then powers all onboard systems—such as lighting and audio—throughout the entire ride.
This places extremely high demands on both charging capacity and the industrial robustness of the power supply.
48V power systems for rail segments
In parallel, a second project involves multiple rail segments, each requiring its own 48V power system. Each segment must continuously deliver up to 120A, requiring a scalable and efficient solution.
The solution
For both applications, the Nextys NPS2400-48 was selected—a powerful industrial DIN-rail power supply known for its performance and reliability.
Thanks to its wide three-phase input range and active power factor correction, stable and efficient operation is ensured. The unit delivers 48VDC at 50A and offers additional flexibility through an adjustable output voltage range.
